Tea is obtained from the leaves, leaf buds, and internodes of the Camellia sinensis plant by processing and curing it in various ways. There are four types of tea available in general – the black tea, the oolong tea, the green tea, and the white tea. Tea is well-known for its medicinal properties and is not just another beverage. Having been in use for ages (Tea was invented in 2737 BC by the 2nd Chinese Emperor), drinking the plain tea becomes very boring. This led to the advent of flavored teas. Flavored teas are made by adding some flavor to the regular tea to make it more appealing to the masses.

The Flavor tea could be obtained by adding various kinds of flavors to the tea, such as, fruits, flowers, spices, etc. These flavors can be added to black, oolong, white or green tea. While any tea can be flavored, black and green tea are the most popular for making flavor tea. The flavored tea can be served both hot or cold and could be referred to as the dessert of teas. The tea flavors should complement the tea rather than overpowering them. There are many tea flavours available in the market – ginger, apple, apricot, mint, honey, jasmine, and the list goes on.

Flavored teas could be good for those who do not like the normal tea flavor. Kids usually do not like tea and hence, flavored tea could be given to them. This will help them in enjoying the benefits of the tea in addition to the wonderful flavors. The best way to enjoy flavor tea is to place tea leaves in a suitable container and pour boiling water over it. Allow it to steep for 4-7 minutes for black tea and 3-5 minutes for green tea. Never boil tea leaves in water as it does not enhance its flavor.
Flavor tea retains all the medicinal properties while enhancing the taste of the tea. The various benefits of the tea include curing cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, high cholesterol levels, cardiovascular diseases, infections and losing weight. So if you know someone who does not likes tea, give them the flavored tea so that they can enjoy its health benefits.
